NEWCASTLE LANDFILL
    Located 3 miles south on Highway 85
    Hours:

    Monday - Saturday - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Landfill Gate Fees: (effective date July 14, 2016)
  • $.06 per pound unless otherwise noted below
 
Disposal of animals: (effective date April 3, 1995)
  • Disposal of dead cows, horses and similar sized animals - $20.00 for the first animal and $10.00 for each additional animal.

Disposal of appliances and batteries:
  • No charge. Appliances. (Freon doesn`t need to be removed from appliance before bringing appliance to landfill.)
  • No charge. Used lead-acid batteries and nickel-cadmium batteries may be placed on the pallets by the landfill office building.

Disposal of demolition: (effective date July 14,2016)
(For total house demolition only.)
  • Customer must first obtain pre-approval and permit from City Engineer.
  • Original permit must be renewed one year after issue date
  • Disposal fee on house and garage is $.03 per pound.

Disposal of contaminated soils: (effective date July 05, 2016)
  • the City of Newcastle will not accept contaminated soil. .
Disposal of metal for noncommercial customer:
  • No charge. Pickup size loads of metal, STRICTLY METAL, no other materials on the load, may be placed in the metal pile as directed by the attendant.
Disposal of mobile homes and travel trailers: (effective date July 1, 2013)
  • To be accepted at the landfill for disposal, call the City Office for pre-approval from the City Engineer. Appliances must be removed by customer and placed in the designated disposal area for appliances. There shall be no item(s) within the trailer or mobile home or mobile home section which is not attached and part of the trailer or mobile home or mobile home section.
  • The charge to dispose of one (1) trailer not exceeding ten (10) feet in width and or forty (40) feet in length, or to dispose of one (1) section of a mobile home or trailer not exceeding ten (10) feet in width and/or forty (40) feet in length shall be $200.00 (for each trailer or mobile home section)
  • The charge to dispose of one (1) trailer exceeding ten (10) feet in width and /or forty (40) feet in length, or to dispose of one (1) section of a mobile home or trailer exceeding ten (10) feet in width and/or forty (40) feet in length shall be $400.00 (for each trailer or mobile home section)
  • Disposal of paint:
    • Oil base & latex - mix with cat litter, dirt or sawdust until solid; put dried paint in garbage with paint can(s).
    Disposal of waste oil: (effective date October 5, 1992)
    • No charge for the disposal of waste oil. Household quantities (typically 5 gallons or less) of used motor oil. Pour into the holding tank and dispose of the oil into the oil tank at the landfill beside the landfill office building. We DO NOT accept 55 gallon barrels of oil just set off at the landfill.
    Disposal of tires: (effective date July 1, 2013)
  • The disposal fee for tires is:
    $3.00 per tire(s) which fit eight(8`) to seventeen (17`)rims;
    $4.00 per tire for tires which fit rims over 17` up to 23`;
    $15.00 per tire for tires which fit rims over 23`.
      Disposal of tree branches, leaves, and grass clippings:
      • The City encourages anyone that has tree branches, leaves and grass clipping to take them to the compost pile located 500 ft. south of the horse barn on Fairgrounds Road. You may take compost from the ready pile to use in your yard and gardens. No charge.
